This piece is an ode to the movie '‘The Wiz”, where Dorothy blows onto the playground and the human graffiti figures begin to come off the walls, breaking a curse bestowed upon the children by the wicked witch. Dorothy inadvertently lands on and kills the witch upon her arrival, sets the children free, and earns herself a jazzy pair of red sequinned heels in the process!

The children were trying to reach freedom and all that is good - as we all are. The hands in this work represent a collective effort to attain a common goal, that is “reaching for the moon”. A Touch of Blue is that Quest to find hope, happiness and that place where dreams really do come true!
